SM Sains Kepala Batas was officiated by Tun Abdullah bin Haji Ahmad Badawi (Former Prime Minister) on 29 March 2009 at the Millennium Hall in Kepala Batas, Penang. En. Ibrahim bin Omar, Administration Senior Assistant of SM Sains Kota Tinggi, Johor was appointed as the caretaker of SMSKB.
